Fill a 12-quart stock pot a little more then halfway with water and bring to a boil (Be sure to salt the water)
While waiting for water to boil peel and cube potatoes
When water is boiling set in potatoes and boil for 15-20 minutes (or until potatoes fall apart when poked with a fork)
Drain potatoes when cooked and put into a large mixing bowl, combine with milk and butter and mash together (You may need to add more milk depending on potato size, add 1/4 cup at a time and stir until desired consistency is reached)
