Tuscan Tortellini Soup Freezer Meal Recipe

  • 1 Slow Cooker or Crockpot
  • 1 gallon freezer bag
Ingredients
 
 
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 14.5 oz diced tomato can
  • 4 cups chicken broth or broth of preference
  • 4 cups Water
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 10 oz spinach frozen
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions
 
Freezer Prep Directions:
  • Prepare a gallon freezer bag, labeling according to your preferred method.
  • Add ingredients, except water, broth, spinach, and tortellini, to a freezer bag.
  • Seal bag, removing as much air as possible, and freeze for up to three months. (Keep Tortellini in original packaging and stick in freezer).
Slow Cooker Directions:
  • Thaw freezer bag in fridge 12-24 hours before cooking.
  • Add freezer bag contents into slow cooker, plus 4 cups broth and 4 cups water.
  • Cook on low for 2-3 hours, add spinach and tortellini during the last 1 hour of cooking time.
  • Stir, serve and enjoy! Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese.
