Brisket Freezer Meal Recipe

Equipment
  • 1 gallon freezer bag (2 gallon freezer bag depending on the size of your brisket)
  • 1 Slow Cooker
Ingredients
  
  • 3-5 lbs Beef brisket trimmed
  • 2 Large Onions sliced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
Sauce (Whisk Together)
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
For serving:
  • Optional: Additional BBQ sauce
Instructions
 
Prep/Freezer Directions:
  • Prepare a gallon freezer bag (2 gallon freezer bag depending on the size of your brisket), labeling according to your preferred method.
  • Add brisket to freezer bag first, followed by broth, whisked sauce, and lastly sliced onions. 
  • Seal bag, removing as much air as possible, and freeze for up to three months. 
Slow Cooker | Cooking Directions:
  • Thaw for 24-36 hours in fridge before cooking.
  • Dump the contents of the freezer bag into a slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 10-12 hours.
  • Remove Brisket from slow cooker, and place on parchment paper covered baking sheet. Optional: Broil on high in oven for 3-5 minutes. 
  • Allow Brisket to rest for 30-45 minutes.
  • Once rested, slice brisket against the grain and serve. 
Instant Pot | Cooking Directions: 
  1. Thaw for 24-36 hours in fridge before cooking. 
  2. Dump the contents of the freezer bag into the Instant Pot. 
  3. Secure the lid, set the valve to “Sealing,” and cook on High Pressure for 75-90 minutes. (If the brisket is particularly large or thick, you might need up to 90 minutes.) 
  4. Natural release for 20 minutes, then quick release for any remaining pressure.  
  5. Remove Brisket from Instant pot and place on parchment paper covered baking sheet. Optional: Broil on high in oven for 3-5 minutes. 
  6. Allow Brisket to rest for 30-45 minutes.  
  7. Once rested, slice brisket against the grain and serve.
