Popular Substitutions and Additions

Substitutions:

  • Penne Pasta for Rigatoni: Substitute the rigatoni pasta with an equal amount of penne pasta. Penne’s tube-like shape holds the creamy Alfredo sauce well, providing a slightly different texture without compromising the dish’s overall essence.
  • Cheddar Cheese for Mozzarella: Swap out some or all of the mozzarella cheese with shredded cheddar cheese. This substitution adds a sharper flavor to the dish.
  • Turkey for Rotisserie Chicken: Replace the rotisserie chicken with an equal amount of shredded cooked turkey. This leaner protein option brings a slightly different taste to the Chicken Alfredo Bake.

Additions:

  • Spinach and Artichoke Hearts: Add 1 to 1.5 cups of chopped frozen spinach and 1 cup of thawed and chopped frozen artichoke hearts to the mixture.
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Incorporate 1/2 cup of chopped frozen sun-dried tomatoes. These tomatoes add a sweet and tangy element.
  • Bacon Crumbles: Mix in 1/2 cup of frozen bacon crumbles to bring a savory and smoky dimension to the Chicken Alfredo Bake.

Remember to adjust cooking times if needed when using frozen ingredients, and ensure that the substitutions and additions align with your taste preferences. Enjoy your customized and freezer-friendly Chicken Alfredo Bake!
