Possibly the most adored meal of all time, can be made so simply in the heart of your own kitchen. A family pizza party is one way to bring memories to the kitchen, and joy to your stomach. Being able to customize your pizza to your liking, and bringing your children into the creating process, will be a joy that is played over and over again in your children’s hearts. Family Pizza Party Freezer Meal Prep
There is nothing better than a family memory, and this Family Pizza Party recipe will be engrained in the minds of your family for years to come. Delicious homemade pizza, made simply and customizable so each member can enjoy.
Equipment
- 1 gallon freezer bag
- 2+ Quart freezer bag
Ingredients
- 1 bag Pita bread (6 pitas)
- 14 oz Pizza sauce jar
- 16 oz Mozzarella cheese block shredded*
Optional Toppings:
- *Pepperoni
- *Ground sausage
Instructions
Prep | Freezer Directions
- Prepare a gallon freezer bag, and a min of 2-quart freezer bags, labeling according to your preferred method.
- Add Pizza sauce into one quart freezer bag and seal, shred mozzarella and add to the second quart sized freezer bag. If using, add pepperoni to a quart sized freezer bag, and repeat with as many toppings as desired. If you are using sausage or raw meats, cook and cool before adding to quart freezer bags.
- Add the sealed quart sized bags to the gallon freezer bag and throw the pita bread into the freezer in its original packaging.
- Seal freezer bag and freeze for up to three months.
Oven | Cooking Directions
- Thaw freezer bag in fridge for 12-24 hours before using.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Remove quart sized bags and dump each item into an individual bowl. Lay out all toppings and give everyone a plate with a pita bread on it.
- Spoon sauce onto pita bread, then add desired toppings and cheese. My kids LOVE making their own pizzas and feeling like a chef. Such a fun family activity.
- Place individual pizzas into a preheated oven for 7-10 minutes, then broil on high for 1-3 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
Dietary Adjustments
Make this Gluten Free:
- Ensure Pita Brea and Toppings are Gluten-free
- Use a Dairy Free mozzarella or omit cheese all together.
Notes
*for best results purchase block cheese and shred at home.
*I freeze meats cooked for the pizzas but I do not freeze the veggies, if using, instead I will use up extra veggies in the freezer on family pizza party night.
