Scrambled eggs are a wonderful breakfast that anyone can learn to cook. They are easy, quick, delicious and involve breaking something (THE EGG!). Kids as toddlers will be so excited to learn to crack an egg, don’t worry you can pull out the shell after. And if your kids are older this dish is a great one to start them on without overwhelming them on day one.

Eggs are affordable, healthy and used in so many different dishes.

Whether your kids are interested in cooking or not it is so valuable for them to have a few basic meals in their skillset for their future. You never know what could happen.

Here is a great basic recipe for learning how to cook scrambled eggs!

Quesadilla time! We sing this loud in the house when it’s a quesadilla lunch! Cheese, tortillas, veggies, rice, salsa….and the list goes on! Quesadillas are a great simple meal that are totally customizable to what you have at home. A sort of last resort dish when your out of everything. Yet they are delicious and you will find yourself looking forward to lunch.

Making quesadillas with your kids lets them get creative and choose what they put into their dish. Take out some cheese, veggies, lunch meats or even spices and have some fun creating quesadillas all together!

Lets get a little more crazy and make some personal pizzas tonight. Or make one big one and everyone can fill in a section with their toppings of choice! If you don’t have pizza sauce use any red sauce you have, or maybe some alfredo? You can even spread olive oil, garlic salt and pepper on a pizza crust and go from there. So many different possibilities.

Here is a great simple red sauce that involves simple pantry ingredients!

What makes pizza really delicious and fun is making your own pizza dough. You may be surprised how easy it is to make and how good it tastes! But if you’re not interested in making your own then get creative with what you have in the house. You can use tortillas, premade pizza dough, or even rolled out pizza crusts.

So chop up some veg, put the sauce in a bowl, bring out the cheese then gather everyone around to create their own individual personal pizza. A tasty creation that is so fun to make!

Cookies. Im so sorry it has taken four days to get to the good stuff…COOKIES! My personal favorite cookie is your basic nestle toll house chocolate chip cookie recipe. Its just so good and I haven’t found one I like more. But there are a million great cookie recipes to make out there so pick your favorite and whip up a batch with your kids.

They will be excited to measure out flour, mix up the bowl, see dough form and them roll out the balls to bake. You may get some interestingly shaped cookies but they were made with love so each one will be the best cookie you ever had.

Get a little messy, makes things really fun and try not to fret over a little mess. Remember these memories will stick with your kids forever. So play some music, dance around and bake some cookies!

Here is the recipe to my favorite chocolate chip cookie!

Pancakes! Ok so you have been at this for five days! Good job for fighting forward. I hope your having fun with these cooking challenges! Today its time for pancakes. Probably my kids favorite breakfast of all time.

Who doesn’t like panCAKE first thing in the morning. Plus syrup of course. Your kids will be so pumped to wake up, make this batter, then see pancakes form right in front of their eyes. If you have older kids have some fun with flipping the pancakes up into the air (Maybe only for those teenagers who didn’t know if they wanted to cook until that moment you thew a pancake into the air!)

I am all about making memories so If I gotta play with some food to do it I will!

Here is a wonderful basic pancake recipe if you need one!

Tip: Customize pancakes with fruit, chocolate, m&ms or even spices if you wanna get creative.

If you can cook a good spagehetti and meatball dinner then you can do anything. Spaghetti and meatballs can be a perfect romantic datenight dinner, a budget friendly dish, or a perfect family meal for gathering around the table.

Giving your kids the gift of being able to make spaghetti and meatballs is perfect if this is their first dinner they master, or the only one.

Making the meatballs is the really fun messy part of the dish! Getting your fingers all squishy in the meat to mix up and then roll out your meatballs. My kids love to have fun and get a little messy. (Just remember to wash their hands really good right after!)

Tip: When rolling out your meatballs keep your hands wet with water as you go. It will keep the meat from sticking to your fingers. I set a small bowl of water next to me while I roll out the balls.

Here is a wonderful and simple spaghetti and meatballs to try out!

Asking my eight-year-old what her favorite dish to cook resulted in today’s challenge, CUPCAKES! Its also fun to decorate after baking. Bring out the sprinkle’s food coloring, and some piping bags to make some gorgeous one of a kind cupcakes.

Make it a Nailed It kind of night and challenge yourself to copy a great cupcake design online. Or just go crazy with sprinkles! Whatever you do don’t forget to eat everyone one and have fun together along the way. This is a great dessert to make for all ages!
